I attended the 4th annual Lori Piestewa Memorial sunrise service in
Phoenix, AZ, the weekend of March 23, 2007. I spoke to the crowd
(300-400)
which included Lori's family and fellow former POWs, Jessica Lynch,
Shoshana Johnson, Patrick Miller, and Joseph Hudson. I told the story
of
gathering information prior to writing SOMETIMES HEREO DIE, and how
difficult it had been to make sure they were able to hear it. I then
introduced Danita Greene who the song, she did a beautiful job.

Later that evening Danita sang FROGS DIDN'T HAVE GUNS and they played
THIS
MAMA"S SON, for about 200 people, which included a couple dozen
families
from Arizona who had lost loved ones in the conflict.

Jim Brown

I have been fortunate to meet many talented musicians during my trips to Nashville over the past few years. Jim "Moose" Brown played keyboard on my first five demos in 2003. Last year, I was lucky he was avaialble to have him playing keyboard on all of the songs of RED, WHITE & YOU.

He is currently touring with and playing keyboard for BOB SEGER as a member of Bob's Silver Bullit Band. Not only is Jim Brown a talented musician, but he is also a songwriter and won a grammy for co-writing the Alan Jackson/Jimmy Buffett hit, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere."

I'm hoping I get to see Jim while he's here in Detroit, but the Seger tickets are nealy impossible at this stage.
